- Call To Order:
Robin Worthington called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.

- Adoption of Agenda:
Bryan Van Sweringen moved to adopt the agenda. 2nd by Rick Rubin. Motion passed unanimously.
- Approval of Minutes:
Karen Schofield moved to amend the Regular Board Meeting of April 21, 2026. 2nd by Cheryl Bruce. Motion passed unanimously.
Cheryl Bruce moved to approve the Regular Board Meeting of April 21, 2026 as amended. 2nd by Bryan Van Sweringen. Motion passed unanimously.
- Board Education:
- Adult/Teen Services Manager Elizabeth Morrison and Tech Trainer Jenna Kohut spoke about the Guiding Ohio Online (GOO) Grant and Tech Training, They explained the services offered by a Tech Trainer such as Tech checks for walk ins, teaching tech classes twice a week, and the overall goal of the GOO Grant.

- Treasurer’s Report:
Resolution 26-22: Move that the Cuyahoga Falls Library Board of Trustees approve the payment of bills for April 2026 in the amount of $324,962.57. Bradley LeBouf. 2nd by Bryan Van Sweringen. Passed unanimously.
It was reported that the library received $133,020.34 in PLF revenue.
Resolution 26-23: Move that the Cuyahoga Falls Library Board of Trustees accept the April Financial Report subject to audit. Bradley LeBouf. 2nd by Rick Rubin. Passed unanimously.
- Board President Report:
- Thank you to Elizabeth Morrison and Jenna Kohut for sharing with the Board your daily responsibilities and how you help the Library fulfill its mission.
- The $25.00 anonymous donation and the $625.00 from the Acme Community Cash Back Program are greatly appreciated.
- I would like to welcome the new Circulation Clerks, Raena and January. Also, I would like to congratulate Julie on her promotion to Library Assistant in Adult Services. The Library is now fully staffed!
- Earlier in May, Brad, Bryan, Rick, Andy, and I attended the Northeast Ohio Library Council dinner. We heard informative talks on public libraries and property taxes by Michelle Francis (the Executive Director of OLC) and Jay Smith (the OLC Director of Government and Legal Services).
- And finally, certainly the highlight of this month was the passage of our Library levy! Many thanks to the amazing staff, Board members, patrons, and our supporters in the community who made this successful! As Andy wrote in his message to the staff: “We know that our levy campaign was not won in just the past few weeks/months -our support is continuously built by your outstanding service to our patrons and community each and every day

Resolution 26-24: Move that the Cuyahoga Falls Library Board of Trustees approve the Board E-mail Account Policy. Robin Worthington. 2nd by Bryan Van Sweringen. Passed unanimously. - Finance/Audit Committee:

The committee met on 5/18/2026 to finish up the Fiscal Officer Job Description and it will be presented to the Board soon - Affleck Scholarship Committee:
The updated scholarship will be sent to the staff on 5/20 - Strategic Planning Committee:
The committee will be meeting on 6/1 - Library Affiliated Committee
- Resolution 26-25: Move that the Cuyahoga Falls Library Board of Trustees amend the following motion to include a term limit of one year. Rick Rubin. 2nd by Karen Schofield. Passed unanimously.
- Resolution 26-26: Move that the Cuyahoga Falls Library Board of Trustees appoint Noah Spinner for the term of one year beginning 5/19/2026 as liaison between the Library Board of Trustees and the Cuyahoga Falls Library Foundation. Sean Blake. 2nd by Mike Dunton. Passed unanimously with two abstentions.
- Director’s Report:
- We are still very excited about the positive result of our levy issue. We’ve received countless congratulations on social media, from community leaders and partners, and from library colleagues. (Dr. Celico gave us a special shout-out at the last Business Advisory Committee meeting for the school year). Thanks, for all of the efforts of our trustees, my fellow admin team, and our staff. Special thanks to all of the campaign volunteers for their time, talents, and treasures.
- Thank you messages have been posted in the library, on our digital signage, on our website and catalog, and via social media. We will also have a thank-you sign included in our Memorial Day parade.
- CFL will be represented by a team of volunteer marchers in the annual Memorial Day parade on Monday. Trustees and their families and friends are welcome to join us.
- Summer Reading 2026 “Unearth A Story” kicks off on May 29th followed by our kickoff party on Sat 5/30.
- 1st Security is replacing our typical guard, as Will has been reassigned to a location closer to his home.
- Our carpet replacement in the entry level, stairway, and MakerSpace will begin this weekend and continue into next week. We are planning to be able to stay open throughout the entire project, though MakerSpace will be closed Tuesday through Friday next week.
- Thank you to Robin, Brad, Rick, and Bryan for joining me for the Ohio Library Council Northeast Ohio Trustee dinner on May 7.
- My term as President of Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Partnership has ended, though I will continue to serve as a board member. I was elected to the Northeast Ohio Regional Library System (NEO-RLS) Board, beginning July 1.
- Personnel Report:
- RESOLUTION 26-27: Move that the Cuyahoga Falls Library Board of Trustees approve the April 2026 Personnel Report. Sean Blake 2nd by Karen Schofield. Passed Unanimously

- Contract for the library service – tax levy with Cuyahoga Falls City School District
- RESOLUTION 26-28: Move that the Cuyahoga Falls Library Board of Trustees approve the contract for services with the Cuyahoga Fall-s Board of Education. Sean Blake 2nd by Rick Rubin. Motion passed 7-1. One abstention.

Sean Blake moved to adjourn the meeting. 2nd by Rick Rubin. Meeting adjourned at 7:10 pm.
