Viewing and Logging Milestones
- The tasks in our Winter Reading Challenge are called Milestones.
- Click the Milestone button to view the instructions and rewards for each task. Return to check your progress and log when you’ve completed the entire program.
- Start by completing the “Instructions” Milestone by reading the directions and clicking “Log Progress”. For each Milestone you finish, click Log Progress. Except for the first and last Milestones, you do not need to complete them in any particular order. Find the reward(s) for each milestone next to the Milestone name & instructions.
Rewards/Prizes
- For each Milestone completed, you will earn at least one ticket for the Grand Prize Drawings, plus a Digital Badge reward. Some Milestones also come with a physical prize.
- Each time you finish a Milestone, you may visit the library's Information Desk (located on the Upper Level) to pick up your ticket(s) and prize (if applicable). You can wait until you complete a few Milestones to pick up your tickets, but remember, all prizes are available while supplies last.
- Completing the Program
- Log all Milestones to complete the Winter Reading Challenge and earn a limited-edition Winter Reading Taylor the River Otter mug!
- Don't delay in picking up your prize - mugs will be awarded first-come, first-served to the first 200 people to complete the Winter Reading Challenge and visit to pick up their prize.
All tickets must be entered into the Grand Prize Drawings, and Milestone prizes picked up, before the library closes at 5 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 28. Grand prizes will be drawn and winners contacted by phone the week after the Winter Reading Challenge concludes.
Winter Reading with Linked Accounts
If your family has multiple library cards linked to your online account, you will see any available challenges for these cards under “Linked Account Challenges.” You may register and manage their reading challenges using this feature. (If you would like to link the cards in your household, please see the Account section of our Quick Start Guide or contact the library for assistance.)
Note: There is a known issue with logging Milestones for linked accounts. Sometimes an error message appears after you click “Log Progress” for a linked account. Despite the error, the system DOES log the Milestone. Refresh the page to see these changes.
