Staff Spotlight: Bob Curtis

Bob Curtis

Adult Services

Join us in congratulating Bob Curtis for an impressive 32 years and counting of service at Cuyahoga Falls Library!

Bob began his career here in 1989 and has seen the library evolve over the years, but says his favorite part is "the people I work with". (Aww, shucks, Bob! We appreciate you, too!)

For this year's work anniversary Bestow-A-Book, he chose "Scenes from Prehistoric Life: From the Ice Age to the Coming of the Romans" by Francis Pryor.

Why Scenes from Prehistoric Life? Bob says, "I've long been interested in prehistory, even to the point of learning flintknapping*. Francis Pryor, is a noted British archaeologist (he appears on the show "Time Team" very often) and is also a top-notch author."

*Before you Google it, Bob clued us in that flintknapping is the ancient art of making flaked or chipped stone tools. He even brought in a few of the arrowheads he made over the years. They rock! 😉

If you see Bob at the Adult Services desk, be sure to tell him congratulations and learn more about flintknapping! His bestow-a-book selection is also available to put on hold in our catalog.
