Ohio Libraries Statewide Delivery Update
Hold Request and Delivery Pause March 11 to April 30, 2022
SearchOhio and OhioLINK hold requests AND deliveries will be PAUSED while the State of Ohio transitions sharing libraries to a new delivery partner. During this time, you will not be able to place SearchOhio or OhioLINK holds. We expect significant delays in holds deliveries.
The state realizes delivery has been frustrating for library users for some time. While this short-term pause will be inconvenient, the switch is necessary to provide a better long-term solution for holds delivery.
How to Prepare
Please be patient as we go through this transition together. Remember, the library staff's holds will be paused, too. And no one loves to read more than librarians! So we created some tips to help while you wait.

While You Wait
1. Be open to other reading formats. As you wait for your hold, the same title may be instantly available as an audiobook or ebook in our digital collection. To check, download the Libby and Hoopla mobile apps, or browse online at the Ohio Digital Library. If you need help, ask us! We’re also offering Digital Collection training March 21 and April 6.
2. Get a personalized reading recommendation. We would love to help you find your next great read! Tell us a little about what you enjoy reading in our online form, and we’ll send a selection of recommendations.
3. Find a Read-Alike. Use Novelist to search the title of the book you’re waiting for and the service will suggest similar titles! You can also check our catalog with one click to confirm it’s available on the shelf.
4. Browse in-person! We have thousands of titles available each day (and new books arriving weekly) and staff to help you find what you need. There’s nothing like roaming the stacks and plucking a book from the shelf that calls to you.
