Annual Report 2025

A Note from the Library Director

Headshot of library director Andrew Harant

Thank you for reading Cuyahoga Falls Library’s annual report to our patrons, community, and partners! As I reflect upon these metrics from 2025, I can’t help but think of a recent statewide poll:

  • 90% of Ohioans say public libraries are important to their communities.
  • 87% say they get their money’s worth from library services for the taxes they pay.

Our library is seeking its first tax increase in 15 years (Issue 5 on May 5). Not only are people using our library more and more (over 40,000 people attended programs—maybe the most ever!!), but almost 200 people recently shared incredible personal stories of what our library means to them. One of which is included here. (Follow us on social media for more.) The library’s levy provides almost half of our funding but is less than 2% of your overall property tax bill. For every $1 spent by Falls Library, our community receives an economic value of almost $5.

Impact

"I was new to the Cuyahoga Falls community and to parenthood, and the library made me feel at home in my new role and community and provided an opportunity for us to bond as a family. Not only does the library provide important access to information and resources, but it provides an environment for community members to connect and feel safe. A library is truly the backbone of any strong community and the Cuyahoga Falls Library reflects that. It provides refuge and supports progress and education in our community. This is important to me as someone who has lived here for the past 6 years because it makes me want to stay and invest in the community."
