New library cards are free for people who live, work, or own property in Ohio! Children may have their own cards.
Any cards that do not have a current address on it or minors without a parent or guardian to sign will be allowed to check out up to 2 print items, as well as have full online and digital access. Once a current address or guardian signature is obtained, full borrowing privileges will be granted

Items automatically renew if they are not on hold for another patron, unless the item type does not allow renewals. (See chart.) View your account, checkouts, or request materials anytime through the library's online catalog or mobile app.

Items from other libraries ordered through SearchOHIO and OhioLink may be subject to different loan periods, fines, and fees. Please refer to the Checkout Policies for more information.
Replacement cards are $1. If you need to renew or replace your card, do not fill out a new application. Please visit the library in person.
Yes, every 3 years. If you need to renew or replace your card, please do not fill out a new application. Simply visit the library with your photo ID and current address, so we can update your account and renew your card.
No. However, you can borrow thousands of materials from libraries across the state via SearchOhio or OhioLINK with your Cuyahoga Falls Library card!
The Cuyahoga Falls Library is an independent library and not part of any other library system. Please do not return items borrowed from our library to other locations. See a staff member for more information.
Yes! Teacher Cards are available to teachers certified by the Summit County Board of Education, Preschool or Daycare teachers, and Home School teachers. Teachers must live or work in Summit County.
Teacher Cards are intended only to check out teaching or classroom materials. A traditional card is needed to check out personal items and to borrow from other libraries using OhioLINK or SearchOhio.
Teacher Loan Periods:
- Check out for four (4) weeks with one renewal. Holiday materials do not check out on a teacher loan.
- Most Children’s audiovisual materials may also be checked out in Teacher Loans, including six (6) music CDs, children’s magazines, and children’s nonfiction videos.
- A maximum of 50 items can be checked out on a Teacher Loan at one time. It may be a combination of item types.
- Materials that have been obtained through SearchOhio or OhioLINK can only be checked out on a personal card and not on a teacher card.
If you already have a Cuyahoga Falls Library card, you will need a new Teacher Card to use for your classroom materials. Simply fill out the application below and select the “Teacher Card” option. When you pick up your new card, please bring your teacher identification. You will also need to complete a Teacher Loan Registration Form.
