Your kids have been patiently waiting...okay, ANXIOUSLY awaiting trick-or-treating for a month now. But the weeks of anticipation will end after a few hours. Then what?
We've got you covered. Here are a few ideas to help entertain and even educate (scary, right?) the kiddos after they've eaten all their candy. Or at least the candy you let them have in one sitting.
1. Read a kid-friendly spooky story
You saw that coming - we're a library. Here are some great options that are available now. Or let us choose for you pick some titles from our Halloween displays. (Make sure to stop by Friday or Saturday. We're closed Sunday on Halloween.)
2. Do a craft together
Stop by the Children's Department this week and grab supplies to make a spooky bookmark or a pumpkin haunted house.

You can also visit the children's Creation Station Friday between 10 - 3 p.m. for art and interactive activities that focus on kindergarten readiness skills.
3. Do the monster mash and have a dance party!
4. Watch a family-friendly Halloween movie.
Browse the available titles from the library's catalog here.
5. Listen to a haunting audiobook on Libby
The rumor is, audiobooks "don't count" as reading. Think again! Audiobooks can engage kids on new levels, allowing them to connect with characters more deeply and help children with reading challenges like dyslexia.Â
Browse the "Carve Out Time for Reading" collection on Libby here. Don't have the app yet? Download it for free from the app store.

Have a wonderful and safe Halloween! If you try any of these activities, be sure to let us know by tagging us on social media @fallslibrary with #CFLtakeandmake.
